German media is reporting that the Audi A6 facelift will be introduced at the beginning of October during the 2014 Paris Motor Show in France. This information comes only a few days after Audi unveiled the refreshed A7 and S7 Sportback range so naturally most of the tweaks will be brought onto the A6 as well.
Don’t expect many design changes as Audi’s designers will only apply a minor nip & tuck here and there to keep the model fresh and competitive. It is believe both front and rear bumpers will be modified while the matrix LED headlights will be offered as optional equipment. Also expect to find trapezoidal exhaust tips that will be integrated better into the A6’s rear bumper.
In the engine department, most of the power units will be carried over but there will also be a newly developed V6 3.0 TDI Clean Diesel that will be offered for the aforementioned A7 & S7 facelift. The engine is available in two states of tune: 218 PS (for the ultra version) and 272 PS. There should also be a beefier bi-turbo 3.0 TDI with 320 PS but this hasn’t been confirmed at this moment.
Besides bringing the A6 facelift to Paris, Audi will also likely introduce the more practical and to some more appealing A6 Avant facelift. Sales of both models will probably kick off before the end of the year or early 2015.
