Audi A5 and Q2 have both earned Euro NCAP Five Stars

Not only are the Audi A5 and Q2 some of the best looking cars in their respective classes, but they’re also some of the safest. Thanks to autonomous emergency braking and Audi Pre-Sense safety systems, as well as other safety systems, both the Audi A5 and Q2 have received Five Stars from the Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Program).

The Audi Pre-Sense frontal collision helps to avoid accidents by using a windshield-mounted camera to scan the road ahead for other vehicles and pedestrians. If an impending collision is detected, the system will warn the driver with visual and audible warnings. At up to 85 km/h (52 mph), if the driver doesn’t hit the brakes in time, the car will initiate maximum braking. At speeds up to 40 km/h (25 mph), the car can actually avoid a collision completely.

It’s systems like these that got the A5 and Q2 excellent safety ratings. According to the Euro NCAP, these two cars are some of the safest in their respective classes. While these two cars are not the type that typically sell because of their safety ratings, as style and dynamics are what often sell these cars, it will certainly help.
