Judging by the name, What Car?’s 2015 Car of the Year award is given out to the best car that they think came out that year. Not exactly brain surgery is it? Either way, it’s still a great award to win, as there have been many excellent cars to debut this year, especially in Europe where there are many cars we don’t get here in the ‘States. And that great honor goes to the brand-new B9 Audi A4 this year, which is even more impressive given the level of competition in its class lately.
When speaking of the quality of the A4’s competition and that it overcame, What Car? said “However, when we considered the strength of the competition the A4 had to overcome just to top its class, it simply had to win. It brings new standards of refinement, interior quality and technology to the compact executive class.” What Car? recommended the 3.0 TDI variant of the A4 for its excellent fuel economy and great power.
With its 272 hp, 0-60 mph time of just 6.6 seconds and its potential 67 mpg, the Audi A4 3.0 TDI is an outstanding combination of performance and economy. It’s also cheap to insure, run and own while being incredibly luxurious and great to drive. It’s hard to find any real flaws with the A4’s game. If the Audi A4 was an athlete it’d be Michael Jordan.
