An image with a previous-gen Audi A4 featuring “ACAB” license plate was released several days ago by a German police department. If the letters ACAB don’t ring a bell, they stand for “all cops are bastards” and the acronym was first heard sometime in the 1940s and now it’s quite popular especially among countries speaking English and American.
The attached image was published by the police department in Mettmann, North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany to announce the intensification of local police patrols. However, they made a funny mistake by selecting a photo depicting an Audi A4 which had the ACAB acronym in the license plate.
Shortly after publishing the picture, the PR department of Mettmann police discovered they made a mistake and decided to pull down the image immediately. Unfortunately for them, Focus.de managed to copy the image and upload it onto their website together with the juicy details. Not only did the German police take down the image, but they replaced it right away as if nothing went wrong but it was too late as the original image made the news on the Internet and we considered it’s worth a share on Quattro Daily.
Maybe next time the German police will further check out an image before uploading it and create such an embarrassing situation.
