The Audi A3 Sportback in S Line specification has been transformed into an extended cabriolet. Details about this one-off project are limited at this point, but we do know the attached images were posted by the official Audi Deutschland page on Facebook and show the A3 Sportback featuring an extended wheelbase and no less than six doors while the roof was chopped off to enable a convertible body style.
The stretched wheelbase has created enough room inside the cabin for up to five people sitting on black leather-wrapped seats. This is most likely a cabrio-only version since we assume a soft top has not been developed as it wouldn’t have enough room to sit in the trunk. Chances are this project represents the work of Audi’s apprentices and was created only for demonstrative purposes using only spare parts from various leftover A3 Sportback models since all the bits and pieces are sourced from older versions of the A3.
Needless to say, the six-door A3 cabriolet will never see the light of production day but nevertheless it’s still interesting to see what a team of talented engineers from Audi can do when there aren’t any restrictions and they can just have some fun.
