The Audi A3 Sedan was introduced several days ago in India where it is available with one gasoline engine and one diesel. First up, the 4-cylinder 1.8-liter TFSI direct-injection gasoline unit develops 180 bhp between 5,100 and 6,200 rpm and has a peak torque of 250 Nm available between the 1,250 and 5,000 rpm range. It needs 7.3 seconds to complete the 0-100 km/h run and tops out at 235 km/h.

The diesel is a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter with 143 bhp between 3,500 and 4,000 rpm and 320 Nm of torque available in the 1,750 and 3,000 rpm range. The Audi A3 Sedan with a diesel engine will complete the sprint in 8.6 seconds and do 224 km/h.

It benefits from a MacPherson strut front suspension combined with a four-link rear and rides on 16-inch (17-inch optional) wheels wrapped around in 205/55 R16 tires. On the safety side we find ABS (with EBD and ESC), active hood, rest recommendation system and seven airbags. Depending on the selected trim, the entry-level Audi sedan can get an S line body kit, xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, LED taillights and a panoramic sunroof.
