The Audi A3 Sedan was introduced several days ago in India where it is available with one gasoline engine and one diesel. First up, the 4-cylinder 1.8-liter TFSI direct-injection gasoline unit develops 180 bhp between 5,100 and 6,200 rpm and has a peak torque of 250 Nm available between the 1,250 and 5,000 rpm range. It needs 7.3 seconds to complete the 0-100 km/h run and tops out at 235 km/h.
The diesel is a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter with 143 bhp between 3,500 and 4,000 rpm and 320 Nm of torque available in the 1,750 and 3,000 rpm range. The Audi A3 Sedan with a diesel engine will complete the sprint in 8.6 seconds and do 224 km/h.
It benefits from a MacPherson strut front suspension combined with a four-link rear and rides on 16-inch (17-inch optional) wheels wrapped around in 205/55 R16 tires. On the safety side we find ABS (with EBD and ESC), active hood, rest recommendation system and seven airbags. Depending on the selected trim, the entry-level Audi sedan can get an S line body kit, xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, LED taillights and a panoramic sunroof.
Moving on the inside, we find dual zone automatic climate control system, power front seats, electrically adjustable & foldable mirrors, seven-inch MMI touchscreen display, rear view camera and parking sensors, as well as 20GB of built-in storage and 2 SD card slots.
The Audi A3 Sedan offers a 425-liter trunk capacity and has a 50-liter fuel tank while the wheelbase stands at 2637mm. It’s 4456mm long, 1796mm wide and 1416mm tall, with the gasoline model weighing from 1,295 kg whereas the diesel begins at 1,315 kg.
