Audi has announced plans to upload a video featuring an official test drive of the A3 clubsport quattro concept, following the car’s online reveal a couple of weeks ago. The video will air at 10:00 AM on AudiMediaTV and will show the vehicle being put through its paces by racing driver Marc Basseng. He won the 24 Hours Race at the Nürburgring and is also a world champion title holder in the FIA GT1 World Championship so he has all the necessary credential to drive the concept.
The Audi A3 clubsport quattro concept will be showcased to the public for the first time at the end of this week in Austria during the Wörthersee Meet. As a refresher, the vehicle is based on the existing S3 Sedan but is motivated by a 5-cylinder, 2.5-liter turbocharged TFSI gasoline engine developing 525 PS and 600 Nm.
It will cover the 0-100 km/h sprint in as little as 3.6 seconds before topping out at 310 km/h. It tips the scales at 1,527 kg and was fitted by Audi’s engineers with a quattro AWD system and a seven-speed S tronic gearbox. Compared to the S3 Sedan, the A3 clubsport quattro concept is 10mm lower and rides on massive 21-inch wheels shod in 275/25 R21 tires.
It is believed the concept serves as a sneak preview for the upcoming production-bound RS3 which will likely receive the sedan body style.
