A video from Worthersee depicting the Audi A3 clubsport quattro concept has surfaced the web, ahead of a full public debut set for later this week. In this short clip we get the chance to see the concept’s deployable rear spoiler which incorporates the third brake light. We also notice that massive rear bumper featuring a very aggressive diffuser and a pair of oval exhaust pipes.
Later in the video the engine is fired up and sounds very brutal, proving once again that the 2.5-liter 5-cylinder motor from Audi is one of the most impressive out there. Besides sounding great, the engine is also extremely powerful as in this application it manages to develop no less than 525 PS and a maximum torque of 600 Nm.
With the Audi A3 clubsport quattro concept, the German marque is likely previewing the next-gen RS3 set to come out in the following months probably as a sedan. It will probably adopt the 5-cylinder engine but its output is going to be considerably toned down. The quattro all-wheel drive system and 7-speed S tronic transmission will most likely be carried over from the concept while the suspension will be stiffer compared to the S3.
The new RS3 will likely be introduced in the second half of the year, possibly in October at the Paris Motor Show before going on sale shortly thereafter.
