YouTube user Nick Car Video elaborated a close-up clip with the 2014 Audi A3 Cabriolet 1.4 TFSI. Far from being a popular model in Audi’s current range, the open-top A3 is still an interesting choice for a front-wheel drive convertible and it uses Volkswagen Group’s MQB platform. As the title suggest, this particular A3 Cabriolet is powered by a 4-cylinder, 1.4-liter TFSI engine developing 140 bhp and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque, more than enough for a regular driver who isn’t looking for sporty performances.
We live in a world where downsizing is more than just a trend so most likely the 1.4 TFSI is a very popular choice among buyers who prefer low fuel consumption rather than getting to 62 mph (100 km/h) as fast as possible. Speaking of which, the sprint takes 9.4 seconds in this test even though Audi says the A3 Cabriolet needs 9.1 seconds to complete the run.
For those interested in purchasing this model, we should mention that at home in Germany the Audi A3 Cabriolet 1.4 TFSI has a starting price of €31,700. According to the Ingolstadt-based automaker, the compact cabrio has a fuel consumption of only 4.9 liters / 100 km in the combined cycle so it should be cheap to operate.
