The recently introduced Audi A1 facelift has received an optional Active Kit available at an additional cost. This is merely an appearance package for the company’s entry-level model and can be had from a starting price of €390 in Germany. In return you will be getting inserts in the boot lid, side mirrors and roof pillars while the €1,500 version adds inserts for the side sills, wheel arches and bumpers. Also new are the 17-inch wheels available for €1,300 while the larger 18-inch rims will set you back €1,800.

The Audi A1 facelift carries a starting price of €19,200 for the three-door version whereas the more practical five-door Sportback variant starts at €20,050. Upgrade to the three-door S1 and the price rises to €29,950 while the S1 Sportback begins at €30,800. The punchier S1 versions come with a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter TFSI turbocharged gasoline engine outputting 231 bhp (172 kW). It’s enough for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 5.8 seconds (+0.1s for the Sportback).

At the other end of the spectrum, the Audi A1 facelift is available with a tiny three-cylinder 1.0-liter gasoline engine rated at 95 bhp (71 kW) and there’s also a three-cylinder 1.4-liter common-rail diesel generating 90 bhp (67 kW). The mid-range motor is a four-cylinder 1.4-liter direct-injection gasoline unit offered with 123 bhp (92 kW) and 148 bhp (110 kW), with the latter benefiting from cylinder deactivation technology.
