Another look at the Audi R8 e-tron

The Audi R8 e-tron has returned in two additional official images ahead of the model’s launch in the second half of 2015. There’s no word about the model’s price tag bust most likely it will be a lot more expensive than the R8 V10 Plus which in Germany kicks off at €187,400 so expect pricing to kick off at more than €200,000.

In return you will be getting an all-electric supercar with two electric motors generating a combined output of 462 HP and 920 Nm. It will run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 3.9 seconds on its way to an electronically-capped top speed of 130 mph (210 km/h), but upon request the limiter can be raised to 155 mph (250 km/h).

Thanks to a 92 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the Audi R8 e-tron will have enough juice to cover as much as 279 miles (450 km) and will need less than two hours for a full refill using the CCS – Combined Charging System that grants charging with direct and alternating current. All the extra equipment necessary to turn the supercar into an EV have increased weight as the model now tips the scales at 1,840 kg (4,056 lbs).

Audi has announced they will be taking orders for the R8 e-tron later this year and the model is going to be built to order.
