ABT-tuned Audi Q2 looks tame, gets a bit more power

The only major complaint of the Audi Q2 is that it’s a bit too slow. However, its sporty handling and stylish looks have made it popular with younger audiences. Apparently, it’s becoming popular with tuners as well.

The fastest Q2 sports a 2.0 liter turbo-four that makes 187 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. Those aren’t terrible figures but they aren’t really any good, either. Thankfully, ABT Sportsline has recently given the Q2 a tune, which bumps power up to 225 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. Those still aren’t blistering figures but they’re far more respectable.

ABT has also tuned the Q2’s 2.0 liter turbo-diesel four-pot. It used to make¬†187 hp and 305 lb-ft, though makes 212 hp and 325 lb-ft after ABT’s ECU tune. To be honest, the diesel seems like the better option, as it packs quite a lot more torque and about the same amount of horsepower. Plus, it’s more fuel efficient, so you’re going to get better real-life performance while also increased fuel economy by opting for the diesel.

On top of the power boost, the ABT-tuned Audi Q2 gets a new suspension, wheels and some new styling. The new suspension is lower than before, 40mm lower. So not only is it sportier looking but it also handles a bit sharper than before.

ABT also offers three new wheel options for the Q2, which each come in two different finished; gun metal/diamond finished or matte black.

With its slick, modern styling and fun-to-drive dynamics, the Audi Q2 is the perfect crossover for young enthusiasts to tune. This tune from ABT Sportsline seems like it could be a very helpful in giving it a bit extra punch and some sportier styling. So if you own a Q2 and you want some extra oomph out of it, ABT Sportsline just may have the answer for you.
