Abt Sportsline Tune Brings Audi RS6 Avant and RS Q8 up to 690 HP

As powerful and fast as the Audi RS6 Avant and Audi RS Q8 are, they still aren’t the fastest cars in their classes. Both cars use the same engine; a 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 that makes 591 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque; and in both applications, it’s out-gunned by its competitors’ engines. However, ABT Sportsline has a fix for that.

The new ABT Engine Control (AEC) unit is now available for both cars and dramatically bumps power up to a whopping 690 horsepower and 649 lb-ft of torque. By QuattroDaily maths, that’s 700 horsepower, which immense in both a family wagon and family SUV. Now, admittedly, anyone that’s driven the Audi RS6 Avant or Audi RS Q8 and thinks, “I like it but it’s too slow” needs a straitjacket. Both are insanely fast, right out of the box. However, they do lag behind the even more lunatic competitors, so this ABT tune is welcome.

There are some other upgrades available as well, such as the ABT Level Control unit, which controls the air suspension of the RS Q8. With it, the Comfort mode is 25 millimeters lower, while Dynamic mode rides 15 millimeters lower. For the Audi RS6 Avant, on its steel springs and Dynamic Ride Control dampers, ABT’s spring kit drops the ride height 25 millimeters at the front and 30 millimeters at the rear.

It wouldn’t be like ABT Sportsline to offer gobs of power and performance without also offering loads of carbon fiber aero and interior upgrades. So you can make either the Audi RS6 Avant or RS Q8 look far more dramatic, both inside and out. The rear roof spoilers offered on both looks pretty cool, with its split design.
