ABT Sportline Unveils Audi RS7-R Sportback — 730 hp RS6-R Sibling

How many times have you heard the phrase ‘if looks could kill’? And how
many times was that used remotely fairly? Well, the recently unveiled ABT
Sportsline Audi RS7-R model definitely fits that description, coming with some
pretty hardcore aero tweaks.

Just like its brother, the RS6-R unveiled just recently, the RS7-R uses a
familiar recipe for ABT Sportsline, one that covers all areas of the car and
turns an otherwise normal, luxurious, ultra-fast automobile into a mean-
looking land rocket. Under the hood hides the same 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8
used in the RS6 version but tuned to 730 hp and 678 lb-ft (920 Nm) of torque.

Those figures add some 138 hp and 88 lb-ft (120 Nm) to what the standard models
come with once they leave Ingolstadt. The power upgrade is achieved through an ECU
tune as well as an upgraded turbo, new intercooler system and a revised
exhaust.

The guys from ABT Sportsline also raised the top speed to 200 mph which means you’ll be
able to rule the fast lane on an unrestricted Autobahn along with
up to three of your friends.

With all of these new bits, the Audi RS7-R can do 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.2 seconds, 0.4
seconds faster than the stock model. It also looks a lot different. The ride
height was dropped thanks to ABT’s new suspension and the car also has
new anti-roll bars. The new 22-inch wheels with red wells turn things up to eleven as do the
front canards and aero tweaks including a new grille and splitter. Carbon
fiber mirror caps and new side skirts complete the package along with a
new bumper.

Inside the cabin you’ll find a lot of carbon fiber, if you’re into it. The steering
wheel can be decked with carbon fiber trims as well as the gear selector
and dashboard. ABT also took care of the seats, front armrests and door
sills. The latter get a subtle inscription that says ‘1 in 125’ which is how
many of these Audi RS7-R models will be made. The entire kit will cost 69,900
Euros.
