ABT Audi SQ7 TDI: “Super Utility Vehicle”

If you looked at the Audi SQ7 TDI, the triple-turbocharged V8 diesel-powered SUV that makes 435 hp and 663 lb-ft of torque, and thought it was underpowered, you could probably use a shrink. Or, you’re the folks at ABT Sportsline, who are wonderfully insane. ABT has just created a tuning package for the Audi SQ7 TDI and it turns the massively powerful SUV into a “Super Utility Vehicle”.

The ABT Audi SQ7 features an ABT POWER control unit tune that helps the engine develop a monstrous 520 hp and a simply ridiculous 715 lb-ft of torque. The folks at ABT don’t quote any 0-60 mph times, but expect it to be quite a bit quicker than the 4.9 seconds in takes the standard SQ7 to do the sprint.

That control unit doesn’t just add power, though. It also controls the adjustable air suspension of the SQ7 and can lower it by up to 20mm more than the Dynamic setting on Audi’s Drive Select. Of course, it’s going to need to be lowered more so it can take corners at the higher velocity that 715 lb-ft of torque can provide.

There’s also a new exhaust system that increases the aural excitement as well. The new exhaust is made up of a combination of stainless steel and carbon fiber, which gives it an aggressive and powerful look. It also provides a more aggressive sound at the push of a button. Which is nice, as the standard car’s diesel engine sounds good but not great.

But ABT didn’t just stop there. There’s an added aerodynamic package to give it a sportier look. A new front skirt, fender extensions, rear skirt add-ons, rear wing, fender inserts and door strip attachments make the ABT SQ7 looks far more aggressive than the standard car. There’s also 22-inch ABT Sport GR wheels with a matte black finish.

If you thought the Audi SQ7 TDI wasn’t exciting or fast enough, the ABT Audi SQ7 TDI will provide the extra power, excitement and style you crave.
