We’re big fans of the Audi RS5 Sportback. With 444 hp, stunning good looks, four doors and a practical lift-back tailgate, it’s hard not to be. However, owners may be a bit concerned with keeping up with its competition. The Mercedes-AMG C63 S has 502 hp, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio has 505 hp and the upcoming BMW M3 Competition will make over 500 hp. If you’re an RS5 Sportback owner and you’re worried about no longer being the fastest car on the block, go speak with the people from ABT Sportsline.
The Audi RS5 Sportback is currently only available in North America (how does it feel, Europe? Sucks, doesn’t it?). If you’re one of the lucky American owners, ABT Sportsline can help you take on those other pesky competitors by putting out similar power.
Once give the ABT treatment, the car becomes an Audi RS5-R Sportback and puts out 503 hp and a whopping 509 lb-ft of torque, up from the stock car’s 444 hp and 442 lb-ft. That extra power comes from an engine tune, an additional water radiator kit and a new muffler. That extra power, and especially the extra torque, should drop its 0-60 mph time into the low three-second range, which was Ferrari-territory less than a decade ago.
Along with that extra power comes adjustable coilovers and new stabilizer bars, as well as new visual upgrades. On the outside, carbon fiber aero upgrades make it look more aggressive and, on the inside, carbon seats and trim make it feel sportier. So it will look sportier, sound better and go a helluva lot faster. Plus, it will pack more than enough power to keep up with the rest of its competition. So if you get your RS5 Sportback tuned by ABT, any M3 or C63 that pulls alongside you won’t have a power advantage any longer.
