Buying a new vehicle is always exciting, especially if the car in question is none other than the 2020 Audi RS6 Avant. That excitement can fade away quickly once cosmetic imperfections begin to pile up just about everywhere you look.
It’s safe to say that bird droppings are among the worst offenders as the damage done to the bodywork is immediately noticeable. The owner a C8-generation super wagon discovered that the hard way as the paint had to suffer on the hood and roof, just 1,914 miles (3,080 kilometers) after taking delivery.
The RS6 Avant had some other problems as most of the bodywork exhibited scuffs and minor scratches, along with additional defects caused most likely by improper cleaning. Overall, the car looked as if it was at least 2-3 years old and with quite a few miles on it, even though it was practically brand new. To bring it back to its original state, the owner dropped it off to LDS Detailing based in West Sussex, south of UK.
It took a whopping 40 hours of detailing to get rid of all the defects and add some red accents to match the brake calipers and badges. The owner also requested a thorough cleaning of the interior, including the leather upholstery and floor mats. The adjacent timelapse video shows it was a time-consuming job, well worth the effort since the car now looks immaculate inside and out.
This particular specification of the Audi RS6 Avant looks downright menacing in all-black attire with the dark badges and optional 22-inch wheels. That said, black is not the best color to pick if you’re worried about minor visual defects or dirt as these imperfections are more visible on cars that have a dark finish. When the car is squeaky clean, it does look spectacular, especially with the carbon fiber accents.
