2019 Audi A1 Teaser Reveals Virtual Cockpit With A Touchscreen Display

Audi’s marketing team has just released a new teaser of the upcoming 2019 Audi A1. The short GIF reveals a section of the center console dominated by the MMI Touch infotainment system. The new display is integrated in the dashboard while offering touchscreen capabilities. The teaser image appears to confirm the A1 will not have a third display like the high-end A6, A7 and A8 models, a measure that might have to do something with costs.

We also can’t say with certainty whether the fully digital instrument cluster will come as standard equipment or it will be available on higher-equipped models.

Underneath the large LCD screen we also notice buttons and knobs for the climate control, while the air vent gets a yellow trim which might be part of a customization package.

The “Barcelona” inscription on the screen alludes at the SEAT plant in Martorell where the 2019 A1 will be built.

The A1 will be similar to the VW Polo and SEAT Ibiza, riding on the same MQB A0 platform, yet we expect the Audi model to have a sportier suspension and different chassis settings.Compared to its predecessor, the new A1 will have a longer wheelbase and wider body.

The engine range will include a 1.0-liter TSI with 95 and 115 HP, a 1.5 TSI with 150 HP and a 1.6 TDI. Other engine options are expected in the future.

The new A1 will debut in the upcoming weeks.
