We’re all pretty aware of the new Audi S4 by now, as it’s been out for some time now. It’s the more performance-oriented sibling of the standard A4, but not as insane as the future RS4, which hasn’t debuted yet. It’s also the tamer sibling of the Audi S5 Sportback, of which is shares its powertrain and basically everything except the body. However, that doesn’t stop it from looking handsome on the auto show floor in New York.
At the 2017 NYIAS, the Audi S4 was one of the cars that received the most attention on Audi’s stand. Deservingly so, as it provides a healthy amount of performance along with respectable practicality and a reasonable price. So it’s the sort of car many people can buy and isn’t a pie-in-the-sky sports car, like the Audi R8.
Under the hood is a turbocharged 3.0 liter V6 that makes 354 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. When paired with its eight-speed automatic gearbox and Quattro all-wheel drive, it’s capable of getting form 0-60 mph in under 5 seconds. That’s rapid and every bit as quick as its competitors from BMW and Mercedes-AMG. We’re excited to get our hands on the Audi S4 and give it a proper test. We’ve been big fans of the standard Audi A4, so we expect to really fall in love with the S4’s extra power and performance.
This car shown at the New York Auto Show is wearing its Navarra Blue paint color and it looks great with the subtle brushed aluminum accents. The classic aluminum mirror caps are present and the rear diffuser is finished in it as well. It all looks very good. On the inside, leather and carbon fiber adorn the high-tech cabin and the driver’s view is dominated by the Virtual Cockpit. This is the best interior in its class.
