Audi recently dropped quite a big bombshell on us at the 2017 NAIAS in Detroit. The Audi Q8 Concept made its worldwide debut and it’s more impressive than we previously thought it would be. Featuring a powerful hybrid powertrain, the Audi Q8 will be one of the brand’s fastest SUVs while also being the most efficient. It also looks great and boasts an impressive and futuristic looking interior. We were able to get a good look at the Q8 in person today.
From the outside, the Audi Q8 looks very good. It’s futuristic and dynamic while also having some throwback design elements, reminiscent of the original Audi Quattro. The wide and flat C-pillar give it a Quattro vibe, along with massive wheel arches and an aggressively raked roofline. Its wide singleframe grill and angry headlights also shows off its Marc Lichte-inspiried design.
Inside, the Audi Q8 is a celebration of touchscreens. With touch-controllable screens replacing every physical button and switch in the cabin, the Q8’s interior looks like something from 2001: A Space Odyssey. Touchscreens replace the HVAC controls, MMI screen, headlight controls and even the rear passenger armrest console. We can only imagine the fingerprints that will need to be cleaned.
