Quattro Daily reader Tobias Hornof has envisioned the upcoming 2017 Audi Q5. We won’t be too surprised if the real deal will look a lot like this since we all know Audi’s design language implies a similar design between models and chances are the new Q5 will look mostly like a downsized Q7. This isn’t really a bad thing in our humble opinion, but we can understand those who would prefer more design differences between models.
The second generation Audi Q5 will receive a larger interpretation of the singleframe grille flanked by slightly slimmer headlights while the side profile will exhibit a more prominent shoulder line. The roofline will be slightly sloped towards the rear where there will be a roof-mounted spoiler and a dual exhaust system.

Compared to the outgoing model, the new Audi Q5 will likely go through an extensive diet as it will adopt the MLB Evo platform which should command a significant weight loss. The engine lineup will likely be carried over from the new A4 (B9) while the interior cabin should turn out to be more spacious as a result of the car’s increased size which will likely result into a bigger trunk as well so it will be more practical than today’s model.
