We’re do for a new Audi A6 around summer of 2017, as the current one is on its last legs, but we really have no idea what it’s going to be like or what it will look like. The A6 is one of Audi’s most important cars, as it battles the famous BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E Class in the most popular luxury car segment in the business. So the 2017 model needs to be a home run in the looks department. Auto Express has some exclusive images of what the next-generation Audi A6 could look like.
It’s no surprise that the Audi A6 in these images borrows heavily from the Audi Prologue Concept designed by Marc Licht, as that concept will be the basis of all new Audi’s moving forward. We’ve already seen some spy shots of the Audi A8 and it’s clear that that car will borrow many of the Prologue’s design cues, including the massive single frame 3D grille and narrow headlights.
The A6 in these images does the same as the A8 we’ve already seen, as it also borrows the massive singleframe grille from the Prologue, as well as its narrow and aggressive headlights. The large wheel arches and massive wheels give this A6 a ton of road presence and its low profile and smooth, sweeping body lines give it a sporty look and feel.
Out back, the taillights are also very slim in profile and very sleek looking, again borrowing from the Prologue. If this is what the next-gen Audi A6 ends up looking like, we’ll be very happy people, as this is a very good looking render. It’s also likely that this isn’t far from the real thing, as we know that the upcoming Audi A8 will have a very similar look and the A6 design will likely be trickled down from that. All new Audi’s will be based on the Prologue, so it’s safe to say that this render is a very realistic interpretation of what the coming A6 will look like.
We don’t have the images ourselves, but you can check them out here, at Auto Express.
