The 2016 Audi Q3 is currently on display in Detroit during this year’s edition of NAIAS. As you can see from the attached live images, the facelift has brought only minor cosmetic tweaks to the compact luxury crossover as the model appears instantly recognizable. Upon closer inspection you will notice the front and rear bumpers have gone through mild surgery while at the back there’s a restyled diffuser. Other changes include dynamic turn signals, an extendable cargo compartment cover as well as more chrome trim.
For the moment there aren’t any technical specifications available for the US-spec 2016 Audi Q3 but we do know the Euro model can be had with one of the six different turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline & diesel engines varying in output from 120 HP (88 kW) to 220 HP (162 kW). Let’s not forget about the flagship RS Q3 which has a 5-cylinder 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine outputting 340 HP (250 kW) and a maximum torque of 332 lb-ft (450 Nm). It works with a 7-speed S tronic gearbox which sends power to a quattro AWD system and allows the high-performance crossover rocket to 62 mph (100 km/h) in as little as 4.8 seconds en route to a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
Since the Euro-spec 2016 Audi Q3 facelift will go on sale next month at home in Germany, it means North American availability will probably begin in the second half of the year, at the earliest.
