The Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has granted the 2016 Audi A6 with the highest Top Safety Pick+ rating. It’s applicable for the model equipped with the Driver Assistance package and the cars manufactured after January 2015. The vehicle recently received a “good” rating after being tested in the IIHS Small Overlap Front Crash thanks to a fully reinforced structure and its optional front crash protection system.
The 2016 Audi A6 has gone on sale in the United States earlier this month and is optionally available with the aforementioned Driver Assistance package encompassing Audi pre sense plus, adaptive cruise control with stop & go functionality, high beam assist, top view camera system and Audi active lane assist.
The 2016 Audi A6 (US-spec) also benefits from a quicker and more innovative in-car connectivity thanks to the MMI navigation plus with MMI touch and an eight-inch power-retractable monitor and support for voice control, Bluetooth integration and Audi music interface. The infotainment system is powered by quad core NVIDIA technology while the Audi connect system can access the Internet through a fast 4G LTE connection with built-in Wi-Fi hotspot for up to eight devices.
It should be mentioned that the Driver Assistance package can be ordered on the 2016 Audi A6 only in the Premium Plus and Prestige versions.
