The fifth generation of the Audi A4 Sedan and Avant has made its video debut today. Aimed directly at the recently facelifted BMW 3-Series and the new Mercedes-Benz C-Cass, the new A4 aims to attract buyers with a sleeker exterior design, upscale interior cabin and a massive 120 kg weight loss bringing not only improved performances, but lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
In addition, the 12 mm longer wheelbase enables a more spacious interior which on higher-end versions can get a multitude of high-end goodies like the 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit, 8.3-inch infotainment screen, 10.1-inch rear-seat tablets and a Bang & Olufsen sound system. At an additional cost, buyers can configure the new compact model with matrix LED headlights with dynamic turn indicators while Audi says they have the largest range of lightweight seats among premium rivals. There’s also an optional LED ambient lighting package and a standard trunk opening for the A4 Avant.
On the safety side, the new generation brings a plethora of systems such as Audi pre safe city (standard), attention assist, adaptive cruise control (ACC), traffic-jam assist, predictive efficiency assistant, active lane assist, avoidance assist, turning assist, parking ssist and camera-based traffic sign recognition, just to name a few.
