The 2016 Audi A4 Avant has made a comeback in a small batch of real images likely showing a pre-production car. There are more than just a few differences between the sedan and its more practical sibling as the Avant is 7 mm taller and 1 mm shorter than its sibling while at the back it has received a spoiler mounted on the roof. Audi will sell the A4 Avant with black roof rails as standard and you will have to choose from no less than 15 shades for the paint, with this one being Tango Red which suits the model very well.
The A4 B9 sedan has a 0.23 drag coefficient, but obviously the shape of the wagon has penalized the car’s aerodynamic efficiency as Audi says it has a 0.26 Cd. It’s up to 120 kg lighter than its predecessor and this was possible by implementing a variety of weight-saving measures, including the use of aluminum for the nodes in the upper end of the D pillar and also for the tailgate.
Compared to the model it replaces, the 2016 Audi A4 Avant has a 15-liter more spacious trunk that can now hold as much as 505 liters. If this isn’t enough, you’ll be able to fold down the rear bench (which has a 40:20:40 split) and boost cargo capacity to a more than generous 1,510 liters.
