Theophilus Chin has decided to see into the future by rendering next year’s Audi A4 allroad quattro.
You probably have seen your fair share of unofficial renders with the next generation rugged compact wagon from Ingolstadt and this latest example is probably very close to the real deal which is slated to hit the market sometime in 2016, taking into account Audi has already commenced testing of the rugged A4 Avant. Expect to see a jacked up suspension, some plastic body cladding, underbody protection and a quattro AWD setup as standard.
It will be bigger yet lighter than its predecessor and will likely be offered with the following engines: 2.0 TFSI gasoline with 190 PS & 252 PS, 2.0 TDI diesel with 150 PS and 190 PS along with a beefier 3.0 TDI that will be available with 218 PS and 272 PS.
There’s no word on pricing just yet, but it’s safe to assume it will be considerably pricier than the A4 Avant which in Germany starts at €38,800 when equipped with the 2.0 TDI motor, so most likely the allroad will jack up the price to somewhere in the region of €42,000, but it will all be worth it if you plan on tackling bumpy roads and don’t want to get a Q-badged crossover.
