Audi unveiled the third generation of the TT at the beginning of March during the Geneva Motor Show with plans to commence sales in the months to come. In this video we get the chance to see the hotter TTS version while tackling the Nürburgring circuit in Germany during a soaking wet track day. Several times throughout the video you can see the car performing some controlled power slides and looking quite spectacular we might add while doing them.
The vehicle still hasn’t reach dealerships but once it will do, it will come together with a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter TFSI turbocharged gasoline engine outputting 310 PS and a peak torque of 380 Nm delivered to a quattro all-wheel drive system via a standard six-speed manual gearbox or an optional S tronic transmission. It will do the 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.7 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h.
The 2015 Audi TTS rides on the MQB platform and tips the scales at 1,230 kg while its cargo room has increased compared to the previous generation by 13 liters to 305 liters. Since we mentioned the old model, it should be noted the 2015 TT is actually 20mm shorter which means the length has decreased to 4180mm while at the same time the wheelbase has been stretched by 37mm. Width has decreased by 8mm to 1832mm while height has remained unchanged at 1353mm.
It is important to add that the 2015MY US-spec TT is still the second-generation model so those interested in getting the third-gen TT in United States will have to wait for the 2016 model year.
