The all-new 2015 Audi TT Roadster has entered production in Hungary at the firm’s factory located in Gy?r. It represents the fourth model to be built at this assembly plant and according to Audi CEO Rupert Stadler “the start of production of the new Audi TT Roadster underscores Audi Hungaria’s position in our worldwide production network.
Just like its fixed roof sibling, the open top TT is available with a choice of three four-cylinder engines, starting out with a 2.0-liter TFSI developing 230 HP (169 kW) and a maximum torque of 273 lb-ft (370 Nm). There’s also a more frugal 2.0-liter TDI rated at 184 HP (135 kW) and 280 lb-ft (380 Nm) while the TTS Roadster version makes use of a 2.0-liter TFSI with 310 HP (228 kW) and 280 lb-ft (380 Nm). This hotter version is capable of running the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 4.9 seconds on its way onto an electronically-capped top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
All three versions of the 2015 Audi TT Roadster come with a power folding fabric roof that can be operated at speeds of up to 31 mph (50 km/h) while the opening/closing process takes a mere ten seconds.
