The all-new 2015 Audi TT Coupe has managed to obtain this year’s edition of the German Design Award. It triumphed in the “Transportation and Public Design” category and Audi also enjoyed a “Special Mention” for the S3 Cabriolet, TT quattro sport concept and the A8 facelift.
It should be mentioned the German Design Council is sponsoring these awards which are considered as being one of the most important in the industry. The 2015 Audi TT Coupe was chosen by a jury consisting of design experts from a wide variety of disciplines and the award will be given in Frankfurt in February next year.
The third generation TT has recently gone on sale in all major European markets and it’s available both as a coupe and roadster, including a hotter S version which will be followed probably next year by an RS version which will mark the return of the 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine. Until then, the TTS Coupe and Roadster will be the range-topping model with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder TFSI rated at 310 HP (228 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft).
Also planned is an expansion of the TT family but the identity of the model is not known at this moment. It could be a crossover like the TT offroad concept or a four-door version as previewed by the Sportback concept.
