The 2015 Audi RS6 Avant facelift is the star of this feature video, following the online introduction of the entire A6 range earlier this month. Sitting on top of the A6 range, the mildly refreshed RS6 Avant comes with a new interpretation of the corporate single-frame grille and has received slightly different front and rear bumpers. Other styling tweaks worth mentioning would have to be the fresh side sills, exhaust pipes and the possibility to optionally add LED headlights or even matrix LED headlights equipped with dynamic turn signals.
Underneath the hood it’s the same Euro 6-compliant V8 TFSI bi-turbo engine developing no less than 560 PS (512 kW) which is enough to allow the high performance wagon run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in only 3.9 seconds before topping out at 189.5 mph (305 km/h). Fuel consumption stands at an average of just 9.6 liters with CO2 emissions of 223 g/km. It manages to be fairly economical thanks to a cylinder on demand system which under light load shuts down four of the cylinders to reduce fuel consumption.
All that power is sent to the quattro all-wheel drive system through an eight-speed tiptronic gearbox and it should be mentioned the 2015 Audi RS6 Avant benefits from a center differential with a higher locking rate. There’s also an adaptive air suspension lowering the body by 20mm or it can be changed to an optional RS sports suspension with Dynamic Ride Control.
Sales of the 2015 Audi RS6 Avant will commence later this fall and in Germany it will cost from 108,900 euros.
