2015 Audi RS3 Sportback spotted testing on the Nurburgring

A new video has emerged showcasing a prototype of the 2015 Audi RS3 Sportback while undergoing final testing in Germany around the Nürburgring. We are getting closer and closer to the official introduction of the range-topping A3 as the model should be unveiled within a year, with power coming from Audi’s iconic 2.5-liter, five-cylinder TFSI turbocharged gasoline engine which will likely work with a DSG transmission sending power to both axles via a quattro all-wheel drive system.

Speaking of power, the 2015 Audi RS3 Sportback is expected to provide 360 bhp (268 kW) according to Quattro GmbH Managing Director Heinz Hollerweger. He also said that a more potent 400 bhp (298 kW) derivative is also being analyzed but a final decision has not been taken yet.

Chances are the 2015 Audi RS3 Sportback will be introduced in March next year at the Geneva Motor Show and will go on sale shortly thereafter. It is believed it will be sold only in a five-door hatch guise even though there were some rumors about a sedan body styles as seen in the exciting A3 clubsport quattro concept.

The prototype seen here was spotted on June 24 stretching is legs around the Nürburgring. Needless to say, the design is not final as this is basically an S3 Sportback and it even has the S3 badges on it. The RS3 will make use of a beefier body, uprated brakes, larger wheels, stiffer & lower sports suspension and other similar upgrades.
