The 2015 Audi R8 e-tron has been caught on camera testing on the Nurburgring while wearing the body of the first generation. Set to be built to order, the all-electric R8 e-tron will go on sale later this year at a yet undisclosed price tag but we do know it will be way more expensive than the V10 and V10 Plus versions. It has two electric motors pushing out a total of 462 PS and 920 Nm of torque which enables the electric supercar hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.9 seconds and top out at 130 mph (210 km/h) or 155 mph (250 km/h).
The 2015 Audi R8 e-tron has been fitted with a newly developed lithium-ion battery pack that has a 92 kWh capacity and provides enough juice for a maximum range of 450 km (279 miles). The battery pack has a T-shaped configuration and is positioned in the center tunnel behind the occupant cell.
Audi has installed the CCS – Combined Charging System which enables the electrified R8 completely recharge in less than two hours which means that you won’t necessarily have to wait leave your car over the night to recharge as most people do with the current crop of electric vehicles.
