These are the very first official images depicting the all-new 2015 Audi Q7 which will likely be revealed online in the coming hours. It looks more like a facelift of the aging model rather than an overhauled design as Ingolstadt’s biggest SUV has received an evolutionary design with sharper lines to erase some of the bulkiness of the outgoing version.
More interesting changes have occurred on the inside where some of the buttons and knobs have been erased to create a less cluttered design. There’s a free-standing display on the center console while behind the steering wheel we notice a fully customizable TFT display derived from the ones fitted inside the Volkswagen Passat B8 as well as the third generation Audi TT.
Technical details are not available at this point but expect the 2015 Audi Q7 to come with the same array of six- and eight-cylinder engines but most likely these will be updated to consume less fuel and have fewer CO2 emissions while output figures will likely increase. The vehicle will probably shave off up to 300 kg thanks to the MLB Evo platform and at an additional cost customers will be able to opt for matrix LED headlights.
A turbodiesel engine combined with a supplemental electric turbocharger will power a rumored flagship SQ7 version while a more frugal e-tron version is also in the works with a turbodiesel and an electric motor.
