The 2015 Audi Q5 has been awarded with the 2015 Top Safety Pick+ Rating by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS). The award has been given to the Q5 produced after January 2015 and equipped with the optional Driver Assistance package. It managed to obtain a “good” rating in the IIHS Small Overlap Front Crash test which evaluates two aspects of safety: crashworthiness — how well a vehicle protects its occupants in a crash — and crash avoidance and mitigation — technology that can prevent a crash or lessen its severity.
IIHS rates the vehicles crash tested by good, acceptable, marginal and poor, based on the findings obtained after five tests: moderate overlap front, small overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraints.
The aforementioned Driver Assistance Package of the 2015 Audi Q5 encompasses adaptive cruise control with stop & go, Audi braking guard and Audi dynamic steering and drive select controls. The extra kit is available on select versions of the Q5 fitted with either the 3.0 TDI or 3.0 TFSI engine. Both these two engines send their power to a quattro all-wheel drive system.
The 2015 Audi Q5 comes as standard with a generous array of equipment including a power tailgate and xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights.
