At the moment, Tesla considers itself the world-leader in electric vehicles. Whether that’s true or not is a discussion for another time. That’s because, leader or not, Audi seems to want to troll the Silicon Valley-based brand and its owner, Elon Musk.
In a new ad for the upcoming Audi e-tron Sportback Concept, the four-ringed brand added a headline, claiming it to be a “Musk Have”.
While this is pretty silly and a bit pun-tastic, it’s kind of funny that Audi would even go that far as to try and troll Tesla. It’s not that the Audi e-tron Sportback isn’t impressive, because it is, but Audi doesn’t have much experience or success in the world of EVs. Tesla has both.
Admittedly, Audi is jumping straight into the EV race with quite a few new models to be coming within just a few years. In fact, the Ingolstadt-based brand is probably going to be putting out more EVs before 2021 that Tesla. So it seems as if Audi wants to remind people of that and push its newfound EV prowess onto the public.
As corny as the ad is, it’s kinda fun and that sort of thing resonates with the younger millennial crowd that wants to buy EVs. So Audi knows its market well.
