ABT Sportsline makes some of our very favorite Audi builds, adding the right amount of power and aggression without making them too ridiculous. They like to amp things up but show a bit of much-appreciated restraint. However, none of that restraint is present in this ABT Vossen Audi SQ7 TDI. And that’s sort of a good thing because the people at ABT have created an absolute monster.
It will be a very limited run, this ABT Vossen Audi SQ7, as there will only be ten units made. So they’re quite exclusive. Which is also good, as this sort of power shouldn’t be available to the masses. Under the hood, ABT has squeezed some more power out of the SQ7’s 4.0 liter triple-turbocharged diesel engine, to the tune of 520 hp and 970 NM (715 lb-ft of torque). According to ABT, it’s capable of 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds but we wouldn’t be surprised if it was actually quite a bit quicker than that in the real world.
ABT also adds a suite of visual upgrades, including a new front lip, rear diffuser, side skirts and roof spoiler, all of which are made from carbon fiber. It also gets new 20″ Vossen wheels and ABT Level Control suspension, which lowers the SQ7 20mm (.8 inches). The most prominent visual upgrade, though, is that matte-blue paint, which looks great.
On the inside, there’s a lot of carbon fiber. The seat backs and bases are entirely made from the stuff and so is the shift lever and parts of the steering wheel. There’s a lot of carbon fiber inside the ABT Vossen Audi SQ7. The seats themselves also get specific “ABT” stitching and there are illuminated “1 of 10” plaques built into the door sills. So there’s no mistaking this for an ordinary SQ7 on the inside.
The Audi SQ7 is a great car as it is, with gobs of power and seemingly endless luxury. However, it’s a bit sedate and not as exciting as many would have hoped. This ABT Vossen Audi SQ7 TDI is an absolute monster and brings a ton of flair to match its monstrous power.
