Originally, Audi fans were supposed to see the upcoming 2018 Audi A8 at the Audi Summit coming up on July 11. However, as we called it yesterday, the new A8 will debut in the upcoming Marvel movie, Spider-Man:Homecoming.

Audi has been involved with Marvel movies ever since the first Iron Man featured Tony Stark driving the first-gen Audi R8. That movie is where that car debut and it was a huge deal for the brand, sparking enthusiasm for the brand among many future customers. Now, Audi is looking to do the same with its next-gen A8 in the new Spider-Man movie in an equally big, if not bigger, way.

Yesterday, we saw a teaser clip of an Audi A8 self-parking into an owners garage. In the video, the owner takes his sleeping son, who’s wearing a Spider-Man outfit, out of the backseat, teasing the upcoming movie connection. At the end of the video, the Spider-Man:Homecoming logo appeared on the screen. So we speculated that the new Audi A8 would debut in the movie ahead of its eventual Summit.

In the film, Peter Parker (Spider-Man) gets driven around by Tony Stark’s personal body guard, Happy Hogan (played by Jon Favreau) in the new Audi A8. Apparently, we’ll get to see a good glimpse of the front end of the car and it’s new face, as well as a lot of the interior. There will also be a bit of a tech demo, as Happy lets the car drive itself, autonomously, while they’re in traffic. This is to show off the Level 3 Autonomous tech that Audi’s been bragging about the next-gen A8 having for some time now.

The Audi A8 won’t be the only four-ringed car featured in Spider-Man, as Peter Parker himself will drive a TTS Roadster. And, of course, Tony Stark rocks an Audi R8 V10 Spyder.

The folks in Ingolstadt have a knack for using Marvel movies as a platform for their debuts, as with the original R8 in Iron Man, the R8 e-tron in the Avengers: Age of Ultron and the SQ7 TDI in Captain America: Civil War.

Spider-Man:Homecoming makes its film debut in Los Angeles on June 28, but will hit theaters worldwide in July. So if you want to see the new Audi A8 ahead of the July 11 Audi Summit in Spain, check out the new Spiderman movie.
